Julia Lester is 19 years old and lives in the town of Wilkesport. She is the only daughter of 5 children in her family. She is currently enrolled in her second year of Practical Nursing at Lambton College and works part time at The Source in Wallaceburg. Julia hopes to become a maternity and pediatric nurse after she graduates because she enjoys caring for her niece, nephews and many younger cousins.
Julia’s hobbies include gardening, baseball, reading, cooking and taking care of her chickens, dogs, and cat. Her love for animals has led her to have many pets, and she intends to adopt more animals in the future. She also loves to spend time on her uncle’s farm with the cattle and lambs. Julia feels strongly about the environment and loves to spend time outdoors, whether it be kayaking, tobogganing or hiking.
Julia volunteers with her local fire department and plans to join someday in the near future, just as her grandfather, father and brothers did before her. Julia also intends to donate 12 inches of hair to Locks of Love, the foundation that provides wigs for those who have lost their hair to cancer. She is also a registered blood and stem cell donor and would like to remind everyone that blood donors save lives.
